The Sager Science Leadership Institute is an annual gathering of Tibetan monastic science leaders. These leaders are creating science centers in their respective monastic communities. The monastic are new science teachers and administrators of these emerging centers for learning and engagement with science. The 2-week gathering provides a forum for center leaders to share previous work, identify best practices, and generate vision for future work. Western faculty work closely with the monastic leaders to nurture their teaching skills, emphasizing pedagogy, lesson planning, and hands-on learning.
